TRATALOW stands for Transition towards low emissions and climate-resilient economy in the Western Balkans and Türkiye, the project provides support for the implementation of the EU climate acquis, now including the fit-for-55 package.
This week’s TRATALOW workshop in Tirana discussed the steps once the National Energy and Climate Plan is adopted. Implementation, monitoring and evaluation were some of the keywords for these very rich discussions.Jean-Sébastien Broc presented key aspects for implementing the energy savings obligation (Article 8 of the Energy Efficiency Directive).
The figure about the various results of Member States in 2014-2020 raised questions about what makes success or failure in this field, highlighting the importance of having policies in place that can deliver energy savings from the start of the obligation period.
